We have recently been published in the Board Converting News that talks about how 2019 was a great year of progression for Absolute and how it’s lead the way for us into 2020 with a great deal of momentum!
Take a look at the full review below.
2019 proved to be the best year for growth in Absolute’s history – and what a year to do it in!
December 2019 marked 20 years since the company was formed, with second-hand desks in a tiny sub-let factory. During 2019 we moved into our new building which doubled the footprint of our latest facility. This gave us the capacity to meet pent up demand for Absolute products worldwide, and increase our turnover by 23%. This additional space has allowed us to purchase more equipment, with a new CNC turning centre on order to complement our existing CNC milling capacity.
An extensive recruitment campaign has also allowed us to increase staff numbers by 20% in order to maintain customer support. This included a new Head of Operations to control all Production and Manufacturing, in addition to Installation Technicians, a dedicated Customer Service Coordinator for the Americas and more Design Engineers to ensure on-time deliveries for the increased order book.
December 2019 was also a significant milestone because we shipped our 10,000th carbon fiber inking system. As the very first company in the world to manufacture a woven carbon fiber chamber, its amazing to look back and see how the industry perception to inking systems has changed in that time.
It also seemed an appropriate time to launch our latest innovation in inking systems – Chamber3. Our completely new chamber with its innovative automatic blade clamping design has yet again created clear blue sky between Absolute and our imitators. The system has already been adopted by a number of early adopters OEM’s who want their flexo units to be a showcase for the best technology our industry has to offer. This is just one of several innovations and product launches that Absolute will be making throughout 2020 and 2021.
We have invested heavily in a New Product Development program over the previous 3 years and we will be sharing the results of this investment with our industry colleagues at invited events throughout the year and of course SuperCorr!
In order to help share this information, we have also put significant work into our distribution network. New Agents are being appointed worldwide, with the focus on technical experts who understand our end users requirements in detail.
Throughout the year we will be holding Technology updates with new and existing colleagues to share information and analysis on both the upgrades to existing products and the range of new products, to help serve our customers better.
In conclusion, 2019 was a great year and 2020 is great opportunity to continue the momentum!
